Our Mission

Our Mission is to recover and restore to working order any steam or oil powered engine or tractor, from central Victoria and house it in our permanent museum at the showgrounds in bendigo. What makes our museum unique is that all exhibits including the steam engines can be & are , run . We are entirely staffed by volunteers, and rely totally on donations and the odd grant for funding.

Our small band of volunteers, about 25, houses this great collection of machinery, including one of the oldest, working stationary steam engines in Australia, dating from the 1860's. We are always looking for donations of old machinery to exhibit. We no doubt have one of the most unique working museums in Australia.

We open every saturday afternoon, with static displays and have "live" shows approx 4 times a year.
